Your First Aid, Hazards, and Behavioral Management Practices outline is clear and comprehensive. Here’s a concise summary:
First Aid:
Certification: All guides are CPR/First Aid certified.
First Aid Kit: Always on hand.
Communication:
Minor injuries (scratches, cuts, tick bites) will be reported to parents at pick-up.
For injuries requiring more than basic first aid, parents will be contacted immediately to discuss next steps.
Hazards:
Behavior Expectations:
Clear guidelines are set for activities involving potential hazards like tree-climbing, fire, wielding sticks or stones, deadfall, wasp nests, poison ivy, and other wild plants.
Students must ask permission before eating any wild plant, including leaves.
Behavioral Management Practices:
Safety Priority: Zero tolerance for harmful behavior towards others or oneself.
Code of Conduct:
Set collaboratively with students at the start of each session.
Natural consequences are used for non-safety-related behavioral issues.
For safety-related concerns, a warning is given, and if the behavior persists, parents are consulted for further action.

Our classes are designed to be enjoyed in the great outdoors, rain or shine! To ensure that every experience is safe and enjoyable, here’s how we handle various weather conditions:
Rainy Days: Activities will continue under a tarp shelter for any sedentary tasks or crafts.
Severe Weather: In cases of unsafe conditions such as icy roads, dangerously low temperatures, severe winds, or thunderstorms, we will reschedule to a weather make-up date.
Notification: We will notify you by 8 AM on the day of a canceled class if rescheduling is necessary.
